Big Cat Sighted in Aberdeenshire
An Aberdeenshire woman has been reliving her experience of coming face to face with a fabled 'big cat'.
Mandy Nash who lives near Ellon says the huge beast stared straight at her before running off.
Mandy was driving home last night with her son along a rural road near Ellon in Aberdeenshire when what she describes as a large beast jumped in front of her car.
She said: "My colleagues all think I was drunk or something, but I really did see a big cat.
It was twenty to eight last night and it was huge. It took up most of the road to be honest. It was the tail that was amazing - it had this really long tail with a black tip at the end of it. I've not really seen anything like it before."
Every year there are hundreds of sightings of so-called big cats in Scotland.
Many people describe seeing a jet black Puma-like creature.
The introduction of the Dangerous Wild Animals Act in 1976 made it illegal for people to keep big cats and it is thought that some were released into the wild.
Mandy is no doubt what she saw, and says there have been further unexplained goings on.
Mandy Nash "The farmer up the road, Alan, reported that one of his sheep had been eaten on Bonfire morning. He had a few drinks the night before and the sight of the eaten sheep made him sick. I never thought anymore about it until i spotted the cat last night."
There have been no other reported sightings in the area to date.
But Mandy says she is in no hurry to meet her big cat again.
