Big Black Cat is Still Out There Somewhere

Loughborough Echo: 5th June 2008

Loughborough Echo

THE mysterious black cat of Charnwood that was last week feared dead has been spotted alive and well near Loughborough.
Last week the Echo reported on a curious carcass seen near Shepshed that had led residents to believe the possible panther was no more.
However Quorn resident Les Ross contacted the paper to say he had seen the furtive feline while driving out of Nanpantan at 11.30pm on May 25.
The 68-year-old said: "It was jet black, about the size of a Labrador, with great big orange eyes that were staring at me - they looked like a pair of orange marbles.
"It was definitely a black cat. I slowed down and would have stopped but he didn't run away, he just stared at me.
"There was another car coming up behind me so I think they would have seen it as well.
"I didn't want to tell anyone as they would think I was mad, but then I saw the piece in the paper and felt I should ring."
Have you spotted the big cat? Perhaps you have found evidence of the beast, or even taken a photo? Call Isaac Ashe on 01509 635820 or e-mail IsaacAshe@MRN.co.uk and let him know.
