Another Sighting of the Big Black Cat
A DOG-WALKER has reported another sighting of the panther-like creature rumoured to be prowling South Derbyshire.
Police received a call from a man claiming to have seen the big, black cat in Swadlincote's Eureka Park at 9.45pm yesterday. Since 2000, the number of reported sightings has boomed in the Midlands, with people contacting the authorities to say they have come across something resembling a panther, puma or leopard. In May this year, a youngster told police he had seen the animal in a park off Church Street, in Coton-in-the-Elms.
Anyone who spots a big cat is advised to stand still and not to threaten it in any way, making sure they report it afterwards.
Was it you who spotted the creature or have you seen something similar? If so, contact James Benstead on 01283 550123.
