The following is a letter I received from Doris Moore who you may recall is the lady who had the encounter in January on a remote Steading in Aberdeenshire, and who also suffered severe bruising.
She has asked me to publish this letter on my web site and to
send it to as many people as I can, it is her own words and
feelings not mine. I'll say that again, NOT MINE.......... so
anyone with comments etc. they should really be for Doris, I'm
the messenger, and have agreed to be so as she is quite upset.

Dear Mark Fraser,
Please find enclosed the true story from Doris Moore.
I write to you as I have just received a copy of a report from the internet of an investigation into my attack, by a cat-like creature which I experienced on the 11th January 2002.
I have read Mr. Crosby's report and findings from the others on the web site. These 'others' I do not know, they have never visited me and have no first hand knowledge on the incident what so ever.
I am shocked and my family are also at these reports by these 'others' on the web site of theirs. (False information). about myself. I saw and met Mr. Crosby on two occasions, the first was where the attack took place. The second I agreed to help others with a video session at home. I was so ill going through it all again. I later found out much to my surprise and shock that the video was for BBC newsnight, used and aired without my knowledge, permission or monetary gain.
The support I have had has outnumbered the comments from the people who haven't a clue or live in remote areas, a fact which is not listed in Mr. Crosby's report.
I also decided to go on the Richard and Judy Show, (why that lady mentioned it was an unfortunate experience, I really do not understand). All the staff at Cactus Studios were so kind to myself and Mr. Simpson. Even after my return home, I received letters from all asking how I was, and thanking me and Mr. Simpson for being so brave to come forward. Some newspapers were also kind to me.
I would really like the comments related to me on that web site deleted and from Mr. Crosbys report, as he has been so misinformed from those people mentioned in his report and on that web site. I urge Mr. Crosby to do his home work again.
Please do not believe just anyone without contacting me first.
I was lucky to have been near my car that evening. If I hadn't had big boots on I would have had a nasty wound if not my leg torn off. I have lived here for eight years and never given a thought to winter, walking a mile across country to see to my horses. Can you imagine when this winter time arrives once more, how I am going to feel, I must carry on.
Mr. Simpson has farmed for 60 years and how anyone can dismiss his statement, saying regardless of what he saw!!!!! is beyond me. I do not know these people nor do they know me.
Mr. Simpson after all these years of farming said he has never ever seen anything like it before, how can anyone not believe a farmer who has worked the land for 60 years.
All the others who have given their opinions, opinions based on no contact with me, or a true understanding of the incident, cannot judge me, I do not deserve this, I have gained nothing coming forward. I had to for my own well being. Therefore I decided to write to you Mr. Fraser, and I also gave a recent photograph of my leg to Mr. Danny B. as he called himself.
Yes this was a collision an encounter I never wanted to happen, with a cat-like creature.
And also thanks to my local community for their kind words and
support and also to you Mark who has become a friend of the
family and you have a real and genuine commitment in what you
are doing.
