We are trying to determine just what was released and where. There is a lot of talk about many people releasing large and exotic cats into the British countryside due to the Wildlife Act. But very few people have actually come forward.
Before 1981 it was not against the law to release animals into the countryside, then the ammedment to the act was brought in, making it illegal after that date.
We are appealing for any knowledge on released animals. Your communications will be in the strictest of confidence, we are only trying to get a true picture of what was actually released.
Also, this country had many private zoo's and big / exotic cat ownership We woud like to hear from anyone who ran a private zoo and kept animals in the past. Again, in the strictest of confidence.
The information received will be used only to help our understanding of the situation.
