British Big Cats
Back
Alan White: South Devon.

I was born on the Island of Jersey CI, and have been
interested in all aspects of Wildlife since a very early
age, living close to Jersey Zoo was an inspiartion, as was
the Big Cats section. I have been lucky to have seen most
of the Worlds Big cats in all their natural and native
habitats and so it was with added pleasure, and somewhat
surpise that in 1979 I saw my first big cat in the UK, in
Wales, of which was a Lynx. Having always kept up with the
interest of Britain Big Cat Phenomenon!!! not just when I
lived in Jersey, but continuing on from when I moved to
England in 1981, I feel I hit the Jackpot in living in
South Devon, of which in the 80's turned out to be a
hotspot for action, in 1985 I saw four different cats in
the space of 6 months all within 25 square miles. I have
accumulated a small team of helpers who carry out much of
the travelling around for me, and they are Trusted and
loyal supporters for the Big Cat Cause as I am and always
will be. Long may it reign.
Good hunting to everyone
