I have spoken with Chris as regards the brief sighting I had on 4th Jan on Thursday afternoon as regarding what the activity and whereabouts of cats in the area just to valididate what I thought I saw, but now I know darn well what I saw. I was travelling on the train coming back from Plymouth towards Newton Abbot. We were about 7 or 8 minutes from Totnes and at around 16.20 to 16.25 on the north side of the track I saw of what I knew was a big cat Black in colour. The tail was long and extended and above the rear of it's body. The cat was facing slighly down the field with it's head and face down to the ground. "What is was doing is purely conjecture to the situation?" I said to my daughter did you see that, but she did not. Checking on the Map when I got back home I am sure his was in the Rattery area.

I telephoned Chris when I eventually got home and he told me that there is quite a lot of activity in that area, and a lot of 'On Inv' ongoing investigation on all what is occuring in the area.

In my view it was definitely a cat, very large, panther like, very low body and very powerful. It did not move of the spot where It was standing. The only other remark I can make that the weather was fine and clear. It was unobstructed view of the animal. And as soon as I saw it the natural instinct at first said no it can't be, but immediately my brain took in the giz of the creature and came back as Big cat.

I also told Chris that I had a telephone call on the Thursday morning with relation to a possible Puma sighting Nrth of Stover. Mike has followed this us and is covering the area. Have had a brief conversation with him, as also with Chris M. He will give a full follow up on Monday and send in a report.
